Plane 2 East

Plane 2 East is perhaps the most well preserved plane on the Morris Canal. We are not too far south of Interstate 80 just off of Main St in Ledgewood. This photo is at the base of the plane looking north. On the left side you can see a row of stones and a brown streak where one of the rails for the plane cars rode. On the right side the original stonework of the spillway remains beautifully intact. The pavilion about 2/3 of the way to the top protects the chamber where the Scotch Turbine resided.
